Definition

The Grants Management (GM) fund type is used to classify the different uses that a fund can have in the GM context. You set this attribute in the fund type, which is assigned to a fund later. The following are the available options for this value:

• Internal
• This should be selected when you are dealing with funds containing the organization's budget. Budget used for cost sharing and matching activities should be contained in funds with internal fund types.
• External
• This refers to the funds containing the sponsor's budget. All budget used for external funding coming from one or more sponsors should be contained in funds with external fund types.
• Auxiliary
• In some business scenarios, budget is kept in auxiliary funds. This is the case for program income or revenue increasing the budget.
