Use

In Funds Management, commitment items form the functional structure of an organization.

Commitment items can be budgeted and receive postings.

When posting to components upstream of Funds Management (such as Financial Accounting and Materials Management), a commitment item must always be specified if update to Funds Management is required.

Through the linkage of the commitment item to the basic data of other components (such as G/L accounts or cost elements), the system derives the commitment item automatically from this assignment during the posting procedure. A manual entry is not required.
