Use
You use the maximum amount if the dunning charge of the debtor is not to exceed a particular amount.
The maximum amount only takes effect if, in addition to the dunning charge, interest is also to be calculated. In this case the program compares the calculated dunning charge with the maximum amount: if the calculated dunning charge is greater than the maximum amount, then the debtor must only pay the maximum amount.
If you do not enter anything in this field, the program interprets this entry as 0. However, a maximum amount of 0 means that the debtor does not have to pay any dunning charge at all, but dunning interest only.
If the dunning interest is due (perhaps because an additional latest end was granted to raise the interest), then the program does not match the dunning charge against the maximum amount. In this case there is no limit on the dunning charge.
Examples
In a dunning procedure dunning interest and beyond this a dunning charge of at least $100 should be raised. In this case you enter $100 for the maximum amount.
Dependencies
The interest calculation is influenced by two scales:
- The interest rate defined in the dunning program configuration.
- Note that, for the dunning procedure used, the interest calculation must also be activated for each dunning level.
