Definition

Interval which is identified by a date. This date is stored when posting a document its document header. The length of the interval is dependent on which distances you execute a day-end closing. The smallest possible period is a day, the greatest is a year. You can find information on the determination of the posting day (internal within the program) under next posting day.

Note:

The posting day can be different from both the current calendar day and the posting date, the entry date (day of entry in the system) or from the document date (day the original document was created.

Use

The posting day is used for the time-based asssignment of postings in the components Financial Accounting or Funds Management

Dependencies

A prerequisite for using the posting day is that it is activated in the Customizing of the component Funds Management. You make this setting in the section Requests. You find further information there under Maintain global settings.

The posting day is defined by the system administration in the Customizing of the component Funds Management is automatically carried over into the document by the program, with every posting.
