Definition
The step or #rung# on the calculation escalation ladder for this entry.
In the Actual Entitlement Calculation, a ratio has to be calculated which is applied in the sliding scale threshold selection in order to determine the step that should be applied.
If more than one equity group is used within one PSC/product combination, then the sliding scale threshold has to be broken down by the ratio between equity groups. (The total of all equity groups is 100%.) The ratio is calculated either by volume or by revenue (volume * prices).
If different prices are entered, then the calculation of the ratio between equity groups might be different for volume than it is for revenue. This is because you can enter multiple records for volumes (for example, three months for a quarterly production sharing contract), and it is likely that for each record a different price applies.
The split of equity groups then is done either on the volume or the revenue because sliding scales are based on the production sharing contract and product, and not the venture.
