Definition
Indicates the type of sales/lifting. The three types are described below.
An arms-length sale involves a buyer and a seller located in arms-length countries (that is, countries that are geographically close).
This sales type uses the weighted average price of arm's length sales.
A non-arms length sale involves a buyer and a seller located in non-arm's length countries (that is, countries that are at a far distance from one another).
This sales type uses the higher of either the weighted average prices of arm's length sales, or the weighted average prices of non-arm's lengths sales (quarterly), or sometimes the monthly production price.
A process volume sale is a type of non-arms length sale which has a special calculation and for which only certain combinations of PSCs and products apply. To identify a PSC/product combination as applicable for process volume lifting, you must select the Prc volume indicator for the PSC/product combination in the Weighted Average Price Frequency transaction.
If process volume is relevant for the PSC/product combination, this sales type does not figure amounts into the weighted average non-arm's length sales price, total volumes, and total earnings calculations. Otherwise, the system handles the amounts like a regular non-arm's length sale.
If you leave the value of the sales type field blank, then the industry code of the partner determines whether the value should be arm's-length or non-arm's length.
