Definition
The oil code identifies the grade of oil and the API (gravity).
In conjunction with ship codes (maintained with the PSA Ship Codes transaction), oil types allow a company to track the location (that is, the ship) where oil products were lifted.
Once entered in the PSA Oil Types transaction, oil types are then available for use in the Lifting by Terminal (Comp. code dependent) transaction, the Lifting by Terminal (Comp. code independent) transaction, and the Maintain Lifting by PSC transaction.
