Definition

Specifies that numbers for new WBS elements are to be assigned by the system.

Use

The automatic number assignement is aktive, if you enter a character in this field. In this case, the system determines the next free number according to the Search for free number method.

The starting value is the extended number by one digit, or in the case of edit masks, by one section, of the higher-level WBS element or project definition.

If the system cannot determine a number using this method, it assigns a "help number", which begins with the character entered here.
