Definition

Key of the controlling area to which the requesting cost center belongs.

Supplementary Documentation - PS_AKOKR 0001

Organizationally the WBS element is assigned to the responsible cost center; this can be the requesting cost center.

Example

The cost center "Printing" needs a new machine for folding newspapers. The cost center "Building Supervision" ist responsible for the execution of the measures.

A WBS element is created with "Printing" as the requesting cost center and "Building Supervision" as the responsible cost center.

Use

The requesting cost center is important in Investment Management:

If the WBS is a capital investment measure,

  • the system transfers the requesting cost center into the master record of the corresponding asset under construction.
  • the system uses the company code of the cost center as the requesting company code.

The requesting company code is the company code in which the asset under construction for an investment measure is managed.

You only need to enter a requesting code if the asset under construction belonging to an investment measure (order or WBS element) should be managed in a different company code than the investment measure (cross-company-code settlement of asset under construction). Otherwise the requesting company code is the same as the company code of the investment measure (order or WBS element).
