Print session for a print run
Use
Enter here whether you wish to start a trial, real or repeat print run.
Procedure
Make your selection.
Dependencies
The print date is important for selecting the records to be printed (technical field: DFKKCOHI-COPRI).
In the case of newly created correspondence entries, this field is blank.
If you run a real print, the current date is entered.
When you do a repeat print also, the date will be the same as the date of the previous real print.
Different print sessions are selected as follows:
- Trial print:
Only those records are selected for which the print date has not yet been set.
A trial print leaves the print date blank.
You can run as many trial prints as you need. - Real print:
Only those records are selected for which the print date has not yet been set.
The real print sets the print date to the current date.
A real print is only carried out once. - Repeat print:
Only those records are selected for which the print date has been set.
The repeat print leaves the print date at the real print date.
You can run as many repeat prints as you need.
Example
The printing procedure for a new account statement may be as follows:
- To ensure that the account statement will be printed correctly, first carry out a trial print.
- Unfortunately the printer has destroyed the printout so you cannot check whether it is correct. Do the trial print again.
- The second trial print was successful.
- You can now do the real print.
- Set the print date to the current date.
- Unfortuately the printer malfunctions once again.
- Now you have to do a repeat print and then you can send the statement to the customer.
- A few weeks later the customer calls to say they never received the statement.
- You can carry out the repeat print once again and send the statement for the second time.
