Definition

Insurance grouping term under which several types of insurance are summarized.

Use

Used as a criterion for the system to determine the reconciliation account for receivables or payables.

You can also use the product group to determine the dunning procedure and the dunning procedure type.

Take note of the remarks in the IMG for the configuration of product groups and dunning grouping categories.

Procedure

When you enter a line item manually, you have to state a product group.

When automatic posting data transfer takes place, the product group is transferred from the insurance legacy system and saved in the line items.

Example

For example, the product group "Life insurance" may include the following insurance types:

• capital-sum life insurance
• term life insurance
• supplementary insurance for occupational disability
