Definition

Determines how the system calculates prices, discounts or surcharges for a period condition. The system can calculate a price in the form of an absolute amount or as a percentage relating to a quantity, a volume, or a weight, for example.

The following applies with regard to subsequent (end-of-period rebate) settlement:

Allowed calculation rules:

  • A - Percentage, e.g. 3%
  • B - Fixed amount, e.g. 100 EUR
  • C - Quantity, e.g. 1 EUR each
  • D - Gross weight, e.g. 1 EUR per tonne
  • E - Net weight, e.g. 1 EUR per kg
  • F - Volume, e.g. 1 EUR per liter
  • L - Points (only allowed in Purchasing), e.g. 0.01 EUR per 1 point

If the period condition calculation rule field is not set in Customizing for the condition type, the calculation rule for the condition type may also be applied to the periods. In the case of an identical calculation rule for the main and period condition, the condition amount (e.g. 3%) is also adopted in the period conditions once when the condition record is created. If the main and period conditions have different calculation rules, the latter are created with the condition amount 0.

By choosing the calculation rules D, E, F, L, you tell the system that if necessary it can convert the relevant units even without a material.

In subsequent (end of period volume rebate) settlement, the material is currently not managed as a data retention level. At the time of settlement, conversion of "bottle" into "crate", for example, is generally no longer possible. For this purpose, the material must be known (that is to say, whether bottles of beer, mineral water, orange juice etc. are involved). In the event of a condition stipulating a discount of 3% on all drinks, conversion would no longer be possible.
