Definition

Allows you to look up objects using the hierarchical structures that objects belong to, for example, organizational structures, reporting structures, business event structures, and so on.

When you select Structure search, the system produces a list of objects that are in the top level of the type of structure you are currently working with. (The system detects this according to where you are in the system.)

You can then select the object you want to work with from the list shown. If the object you want is not listed, you can expand the list so that it includes objects from the underlying structure, by clicking on the expansion icons.

NOTE: Using the structure search function only makes sense when you work with objects that belong to a hierarchical structure, for example, organizational units, positions, or business events.

Use

To use the structure method:

  1. Select the radio button.
  2. Select Continue.
A list of objects from the top level of the structure appears.
  3. Look for the object you want to work with. To expand the list so that it includes underlying objects, click on the expansion icons.
  4. Select an object
The name of the selected object is inserted in the field.
