Definition

When you backflush at a reporting point of this type, (backflush predecessor), backflushes are automatically made at the preceding reporting points.

Use

When the quantity is checked for a backflush at a reporting point of this type, it may be established that the relevant quantities have not been confirmed at a preceding reporting point. If this is the case, the missing quantity is automatically backflushed for the preceding reporting point.

Dependencies

If a preceding reporting point has been backflushed automatically, it can no longer be backflushed manually. It is automatically backflushed each time the 'confirm predecessor' is backflushed.

Example

Action points RP1, RP2 and RP3 are arranged in this order on a line, where they are to be used as reporting points. RP3 is a reporting point of type 'backflush predecessor'. 8 pieces have already been backflushed manually for RP1, and 1 piece for RP2. RP3 has not yet been backflushed. If 5 pieces are backflushed at RP3, 4 pieces are automatically backflushed at RP2. After this, RP2 can no longer be backflushed manually. Another backflush for 5 pieces at RP3 generates backflushes for 5 pieces at RP2 and 2 pieces at RP1. After this, RP1 can no longer be backflushed manually either.
