Definition

Identifies a line balance for a line or a line network.

Use

The aim of a line balance is to assign the activities to the individual line segments or work packages, so that they can be carried out in the takt time specified. You can create several line balances for different periods of time or for simulation purposes.

To assign the line balance version to one or more validity periods and to switch them to active for this period, choose Overview.

Dependencies

• In model mix planning, the work content can change in a line segment from order to order, you therefore design the line balance for an average work content. You define the average work content using the model mix, which you create and assign to the line balance version.
• If you want balance the lines for a line balance version, you must use this line balance version to access the relevant line or line network, before you assign the activities to the line segments or jobs.
