Definition
Prevents another activity being fitted in on a resource between two activities for which you have maintained a predecessor/successor relationship. This means that a resource is continuously occupied by activities from one order only.
Use
The indicator for continual resource load is used only in shop-floor-orientated manufacturing.
Example
You do not want another activity to be fitted in between the two consecutive activities, 1 (setup at resource 4711) and 2 (assembly on the same resource). You prevent this happening by setting the indicator for continual resource load when you maintain the sequence for activity 1. When resource 4711 is allocated orders in the APO, no other order can then be fitted in between the two activities, even if there is a gap between activity 1 and activity 2.
