Documentation
Definition
Depending on the subtype you have selected, a document type is a legal document that is required or that has to be applied for during the assignment preparation phase. Note that you cannot change the type once you have created the record.
Per default, the SAP system is shipped with the most common legal document types (passport, residence and work permits, visa). However, if you need additional document types for the assignee(s) you are processing, you can create new ones in the relevant customizing step to meet your company-specific requirements (Management of Global Employees > Assignment Preparation > Checklist Items and Documents > Define Checklist Items and Documents).
Example
To work in some countries, the candidate must provide evidence that he/she has no criminal record and pass medical tests to prove that he/she do no carry infectious diseases.
