Documentation
Definition
A factor, usually calculated on a yearly basis by third-party providers, that enables you to compensate the cost of living differences between two countries.
The default factor is set in the relevant customizing steps (Management of Global Employees > Assignment Master Data > Define Cost of Living Providers and Define Assignment Types).
Example
If a global employee is transferred from Germany to the United States, a COLI of 1,3 will be used, which means that life in the United States is 30% more expensive than in Germany. Costs of living vary significantly from one country to the other but also from one area to the other within the same country.
