Definition

Depending on your item category, maintain one of the following as component:

  • for a packaging material item (load carrier or packing material), the material number of the packaging material
  • for a packed goods item, the material number of a material to be packed
  • for a subordinate packing instruction item, the ID number of a subordinate packing instruction.

Note

The first item of your packing instruction should be the load carrier (main packing material, such as pallet).

SAP recommends that you enter components in the following order:

  • Loading equipment
  • Packing material (such as intermediate layers)
  • Packed goods or subordinate packing instructions
