Definition

Describes the reason for replacing a material by another.

For Supersession the system assigns a four-figure number code.

For inventory-managed manufacturer parts, this code describes the one-sided or conditional interchangeability between two materials. This code specifies the basic conditions, the external circumstances or the prerequisites to be filled, under which an exchange can take place. The code is alphanumeric, has two figures and is assigned by the user when it is created.

Use

In the SAP System two reasons are preset, changes in design and improvements in quality, that you can choose using F4.

You can define additional reasons for replacing a material in Customizing.
