Use

Procedure

Display mode: Contains the name of the SAP server that processes background processing events.

Edit mode: Enter the name of the SAP server that is to process background processing events.

The SAP server that you select as the event handler should meet these criteria:

  • The server should be running whenever your SAP System is up. The central server of your SAP System is often a good choice as event handler.
  • The server should have background processing (batch) work processes. A server without background processing work processes can still process events. However, SAP recommends that the server have such work processes.

A background processing event is a signal to the SAP System that a certain condition has been reached. Such events have meaning only in the background processing system. The triggering of an event tells the background processing system to release for execution any jobs that were waiting for the event.
