• P: Production - for the normal operation of your R/3
  System.
  
• M: Maintenance - for systems where maintenance is being
  carried out (for example, Release upgrades or installation of
  maintenance levels).
  
• T: Test - for systems where development work or testing
  is being carried out.
  

  In Release 2.1A, the operation mode type is used only for documentation purposes.
