Definition

A personnel area is an organizational entity representing an area within an enterprise defined by specific aspects of personnel administration, time management and payroll.

Personnel areas are subdivided into personnel subareas.

Additional

This personnel area indicates to where an employee has been send resp. from where an employee has been received.

From this we derive information such as to which country and/or city an employee been send.

Use

Use this field to assign a personnel area to the object you are working with. (Personnel areas consist of controlling areas, as well as other pieces of information. So by specifying a personnel area, you are also specifying a controlling area.)

NOTE: If you complete the Personnel area field, it is not necessary to also complete the Company code and Business area fields.

Procedure

In CREATE mode either:

  • type in the appropriate code, or
  • request a list of personnel areas and make a selection by either:
    . pressing F4, or
    . clicking on the down arrow

In CHANGE mode, enter a different personnel area by typing over the existing one, or by requesting a list using the methods outlined above.
