Transfer of the asset portfolio to Profit Center Accounting

Use

You enter the Asset Accounting posting period here that should be transferred to Profit Center Accounting.

If you use a different fiscal year version in Asset Accounting than in Profit Center Accounting, the system determines the period in Profit Center Accounting. The system uses the last day of the Asset Accounting period as the key date when making this determination.

Procedure

Examples

You use half periods (that is, 24 periods) in Asset Accounting, but only 12 periods in Profit Center Accounting.

When you transfer data for the first period to Profit Center Accounting, select 2. For the second period, select 4, and so on.

If you would have selected 1 instead of 2 in this example, the system would transfer the asset accounting data from the end of the first half period in Asset Accounting to period 1 in Profit Center Accounting.

If you are settling an object according to settlement type

  • PER, the following applies:

All PER and YER distribution rules are included in the settlement

  • FUL, the following applies:

Settlement initially proceeds as with PER, if appropriate rules are in place. The rest is settled per the distribution rules defined for FUL.

You can enter a settlement type in one of the following ways:

  • manually

You can prescribe the settlement type when you start settlement. This entry then applies to all objects.

  • automatically

In automatic settlement (settlement type AUT), the settlement type for is derived for each sender from the relevant distribution rules.

Automatic settlement example

If you use collective processing to settle all the orders for an order type, the system determines the settlement type for each order according to the following rule:

  • capital-investment measures

If the capital-investment measure is technically closed (system status TABG), settlement type FUL applies. Otherwise, settlement type PER applies.

  • Other senders

If distribtution rules for settlement type FUL are in place, that applies. Otherwise, settlement type PER applies.

Supplementary Documentation - PERBZ_LD 0100

Use

Note that you cannot manually create or change a distribution rule with settlement type AUC. This has the following effect on settlement rule maintenance:

The required rule is generated from the asset under construction, which is stored in the master data for a capital investment measure, (order or WBS element)when you carry out settlement for the first time.

Supplementary Documentation - PERBZ_LD 0130

Use

Note that settlement type FUL permits quantity settlement for primary cost elements only. You cannot settle quantities to assets.

Note that you cannot manually create or change a distribution rule with settlement type AUC. This has the following effect on settlement rule maintenance:

The fiscal year variant determines how the fiscal year is sub-divided. The forecast values and the consumption values are updated in this time period.

Supplementary Documentation - PERIV 0002

Dependencies

The fiscal year variants in the company code and in the controlling area must have the same number of posting periods.

A variance is possible in the special periods. The period limits of the fiscal year variants must correspond to each other, which means the fiscal years may not overlap.

Supplementary Documentation - PERIV 0009

Use

In general, asset accounting uses the same fiscal year variant as in financial accounting. A diffenrent fiscal year variant is only required for asset accounting in exceptional situations.

Procedure

Examples

Dependencies

Supplementary Documentation - PERIV 1400

Use

The fiscal year variant determines the number of posting periods in the fiscal year for the operating concern.

If you use the costing-based profitability analysis, the fiscal year variants of the operating concern and their controlling areas must be identical if an assessment of CO-CCA is to be carried out in CO-PA. If you use the profitability analysis for the accounting department, the fiscal year variants of the operating concern and their controlling areas must always be identical.

Procedure

Since each of the controlling areas assigned to the operating concern, as well as its assigned company codes, can have separate fiscal year variants, you must define the variant for the operating concern only in consultation with the other areas. You are only allowed to change the fiscal year variant if the number of periods is increased in total, for example:
from 12 posting periods + 2 special periods
from 12 posting periods + 4 special periods

If a second period is active for the operating concern (see below), then you cannot change the fiscal year variant.

You use the period indicator to specify the period for the evaluation of the stock and receipt statistics on the Period Statistics tab page. The system then determines the receipt and requirement quantities in the current period, next period, and the period after next, as well as the quantities that are already subject to delay.

Procedure

When you call the period statistics for the first time, the system uses the default period you specified in the evaluation profile for range-of-coverage data. However, you can also change the period manually:

  • For example, you can specify 'month'. The system then determines the receipt and requirement quantities for the next two months.
  • If you want the system to use planning calendars to determine the period, enter the required calendar in the neighboring Planning Calendar field.
  • If you want the system to evaluate the period using the fiscal period, define a fiscal year variant in the MRP material master.

If you enter a weekly period parameter in this field, (for example weekly, bi-weekly or every four weeks), the payroll periods are generated on the day upon which the Start date falls. This dependency does not exist for the other period parameters.

Example

You enter period parameter weekly. You select January 1 2000 as the start date, which falls on a Saturday. In this case, the payroll periods always start on a Saturday, and end on the following Friday.
