Definition
Remuneration points are the contribution-based component of the pension formula. The annual remuneration is converted into remuneration points by dividing it by the average remuneration for the same year.
Persons whose remuneration in one calendar year is equal to the average of all those insured receive exactly one remuneration point. Above-average earners receive a remuneration point greater than 1.0 and below-average earners receive less than 1.0.
The total remuneration points from a person's entire working life determines the pension he or she receives.
