Documentation
Definition
Describes a concrete way of realizing a component variant in the early engineering process.
Use
A concept contains the following information:
- General information
It contains descriptive texts that are relevant during the phase in which possible solutions are still being analyzed, but that are not copied over to the component variant. - It contains concrete data that is copied over to the component variant in a later phase, for instance, material data and variable-size item data. You can select documents to be copied to the component variant.
Dependencies
You can maintain concepts only when you are editing a component variant.
- You can create several concepts for a component variant. All the concepts for one component variant are grouped together in a concept group.
- You can record the requirements or objectives for a product in engineering structures (application object type GEN). You can link a concept to an engineering node by creating a relationship between the two iPPE objects.
