Definition
A classification code is a subunit of the WCB account. Depending on the province, the WCB account can contain several classification codes. Each code has its own rate. Reporting is broken down by WCB account and classification code.
Some provinces do not use the classification code. In this case, the account number must be placed in the classification code field.
