Documentation

This field is used to store the transmitter numbers assigned to your enterprise by the Canada Revenue Agency, and, if applicable, le Ministère du Revenu du Québec. For information on how to obtain these numbers for inclusion in your submission, contact the appropriate tax authority.

Transmitter numbers consist of eight characters, where the first two characters are alphabetic, and the last six characters are numeric.

• For Magnetic Media submissions made to the Canada Revenue Agency, the alphabetic portion of the transmitter number is MM.
• For Magnetic Media submissions made to le Ministère du Revenu du Québec, the alphabetic portion of the transmitter number is NP.

Note

You must enter a valid transmitter number to perform Magnetic Media submissions. Do not make submissions to tax authorities without entering a valid transmitter number.

Example

Examples of theoretically valid transmitter numbers include:

• MM123456 - for Magnetic Media submissions to CRA
• NP456789 - for Magnetic Media submissions to MRQ
