Definition

In this field, you set the indicator that determines how the system will pay out and accrue vacation pay for the current employee grouping at the end of the vacation year.

Example

Employee Terry Tate has annual vacationable earnings of $50,000.

By law, Terry is entitled to annual vacation pay equal to 4% of those vacationable earnings, or $2,000. However, in accordance with company policy, Terry is entitled to vacation pay equal to 6% of those earnings, or $3,000.

At the end of vacation year 2001, Terry has redeemed none of the $3,000 in vacation pay to which Terry is entitled. According to company policy, a maximum of three vacation days may be rolled over into the following vacation year. Depending upon the value defined in this field, the system will process Terry's vacation pay with one of the following five results.

Value    Result

1     System pays out $2,000; transfers $1,000 to vacation year 2002.

2     System pays out $3,000; transfers $0 to vacation year 2002.

3     System pays out $2,000; transfers $0 to vacation year 2002.

4     Three days are rolled over into vacation year 2002.
    System pays out $2,400.

5     Three days are rolled over into vacation year 2002.
    System pays out $2,000.
