Documentation

In this section, you select which copies of the selected Year End forms will be printed. Forms may be printed for submission to tax authorities, recordkeeping, employee distribution, or other purposes.

Printing is supported for the standard T4, T4A, T4A-NR, Relevé 1 and Relevé 2 laser forms. This parameter is used in conjunction with pre-printed laser forms issued by the receiving tax authority.

Each of the above forms are printed in the following format:

CRA copies                (2 different slips per page)
Employer copies                (2 different slips per page)
Employee copies                (2 identical slips per page)

Note

If you file year-end reports by means of magnetic media, then the CRA copies of the T4, T4A and T4A-NR will not be printed.

Use alternate sort

This option enables you to change the standard sorted output of employee copies of year-end forms. If you select this option, then employee copies will be sorted in the order of postal code, last name, and first name. If you do not select this option, then employee copies will be sorted by last name, then first name, without regard to postal code.

Whether or not you select this option, CRA copies and Employer copies will be printed and sorted in the standard order.

Employers may find this option more convenient for purposes of form distribution.

For each Year End form, three distinct copy types are supported.

  • Government copy
    Select this option to print forms to be submitted to tax authorities.
  • Employer copy
    Select this option to print forms for use within your enterprise.
  • Employee copy
    Select this option to print forms for distribution to employees.
    • If you are printing employee copies, select Sort criteria to customize the order in which the employee copies will be printed.
