Documentation

Definition

PIN for opening the PSE

Use

When the PSE file is created, a PIN is assigned. The PIN is required to use the PSE file (for example, for encryption/decryption). Once the credentials are generated in the directory for the PSE file, the PIN no longer has to be entered. The mechanism provided with the credentials is used to perform authentication. The PIN needs to be entered only if the PSE file is explicitly being tested with the PIN. When ELSTER for employment tax notifications and statements is used, these credentials must be available. This means the report can use the encryption without the specified PIN by means of the credentials. (See also the report documentation.)
