Definition
Price fixing applies to materials of particular importance in a national economy. In Germany, for example, books and tobacco are subject to fixed prices. In Switzerland, on the other hand, fixed prices apply to pharmaceuticals.
Use
Price fixing affects how sales prices are calculated. There is a distinction between suggested retail prices and fixed prices:
- Suggested retail prices can always be changed. If you set the price-fixing control indicator to "suggested retail price", the system displays a warning message if the price is changed.
- The retail price of materials with a fixed price cannot be changed.
In the course of time, however, you may have to change the fixed price of a material. How to do this is described in Pricing.
