Definition
Using intepretation algorithms allows you to find reference information (such as document number, reference document numbers, or check numbers) if this information is in the note to payee or somewhere else in the bank statement file.
A prerequisite is usuallly that reference numbers are returned unchanged (that is, with no blanks inserted, leading zeros added or removed in reference documents, and so on).
Depending on the bank account and interpretation algorithm, defining search strings can reduce the amount of manual postprocessing required. However, it is not possible to combine search strings with all the available interpretation algorithms.
