The reduction rule allows you to specify whether an amount is reduced or not. The reduction rule is used within indirect valuation.

Use
Here, you specify how the limits of the salary group are to be reduced when the Basic Pay infotype is checked. This is dependent on the capacity utitlization level.
Dependencies
Example
Your employee Donna Moore works half-days (capacity utilization level of 50%), and earns 1000 EUR monthly. The salary group of her pay grade level is 1500 - 3000 EUR per month.
If you have entered 'No reduction' in the reduction rule field, the system will display a warning message when you maintain Donna Moore's Basic Pay, informing you that her salary falls below the minimum of her pay grade level.
If you have entered 'Reduce acc. to capacity utilization level IT0008' in the reduction rule field, the system displays another warning message, as the system will halve the salary group internally, to 750 - 1500 EUR.
