Documentation
Definition
The package type specifies whether there are restrictions on creating a new object directory entry. Apart from No Restrictions, there are three options:
- Package contains functional objects only: Users can only create objects considered to have "functional" object types, such as FUNC, CLAS, or INTF, in this package.
- Package contains descriptive objects only: Users can only create objects considered to have "descriptive" object types, such as DOMA, DTEL, or STRU, in this package.
- In an Online Text Repository Package, users can create only Online Text Repository (OTR) objects
All objects not explicitly defined as descriptive object types are functional object types. At present, the term descriptive applies to: Domains, data elements, search helps, structures, table types, type groups, ABAP interfaces, and package interfaces.
