Definition

If an employee has Related Persons as dependants, select:

• Not relevant to BIR 2316 Form, when the related person does not need to be mentioned in Form 2316
• Qualified Dependant Child, when the employee has one or more dependant children. You must select this option only if a child belongs to the category Qualified Dependant Child, as per statutory rules. The maximum number of children that an employee can claim as a Qualified Dependant Child is four. The BIR Form No 2316 will display this information under the section Name of Qualified Dependant Children.
• Other Dependants, when the dependant is a related person, and can be classified as an Other Dependant of the employee as per the statuory rules. For example, the employee may claim his/her Father as a dependant. BIR Form No 2316 displays this information under section Other Dependant.
