Definition

This indicates the number of the pregnancy for which the employee is taking a maternity leave. For example, if the employee is taking the maternity leave for the third pregnancy, enter the Confinement Number as 3.

The Confinement Number indicates the number of the pregnancy as per the Government regulations and may differ from the actual confinement.

Note

• After the second confinement, the system checks for the number of children. The maximum number of children for which the employee can make use of the Government Paid Maternity Leave (GPML) benefit is four.
• The system does not take into consideration a confinement that resulted in a stillbirth.

Caution

Ensure that you maintain information about the number of children and their date of birth in the Family/Related Person infotype (0021) as this is required for GPML calculations.
