Documentation

Definition

This date determines the seniority of the employee. You can overwrite the default date.

If you have maintained the Date Type, VS (Seniority Date) in Date Specifications infotype (0041), the system reads this as the default date. Else, the system reads the hire date of the employee as the default date.

Use

Whenever you create or update the Activity with Higher Rate of Pay infotype (0509) record, the system uses this date to calculate the seniority of the employee. This seniority is calculated to determine the Pay Scale Level of the employee, which in turn is used to calculate the salary of the employee for the Additional Position.

The Pay Scale Reclassification acc. to Age or pay Scale Membership Period report (RPITUMVP) also reads this date to calculate the seniority of the employee.

Dependencies

Example

The employee was hired on 01.04.2001

For the Date Type, VS (Seniority Date) in Date Specifications infotype (0041), you have maintained the date as April 1, 2000.

When you create the Activity with Higher Rate of Pay infotype (0509) record for the employee, the default date for the Seniority Date field will be the date that you have maintained in Date Specifications infotype (0041) for the Date Type, VS, which is, April 1, 2000.

You then overwrite this date with December 1, 1999.

If you are creating the Activity with Higher Rate of Pay infotype (0509) record, which is valid fromDecember 1, 2003, the system will calculate the seniority of the employee as the difference between December 1, 2003 and December 1, 1999.
