Documentation
Definition
To qualify for Statutory Paternity Pay (birth or adoption), an employee must provide a self-certificate to the employer. Where possible, the employee should submit this self-certificate as follows:
- Statutory Paternity Pay (birth) - before the end of the Qualifying Week
- Statutory Paternity Pay (adoption) - within a week of the Matching Date
Use
Set the Self-Certificate provided indicator when a self-certificate is received from an employee claiming Statutory Paternity Pay (birth or adoption). There are separate self-certificates for each circumstance:
- SPP (birth) - Self-certificate form SC3
- SPP (adoption) - Self-certificate form SC4
