Definition
The SSP/SMP Period Indicator shows the status of the employee's absence. There are four values:-
- SSP Period of Incapacity for Work (PIW).
This refers to an employee who is eligible for SSP and for whom a PIW has been established. A PIW is a period of four or more consecutive calendar days when the employee is unable to work due to sickness or injury. - Sickness Excluded from SSP.
This refers to an employee who is unable to work due to sickness or injury but does not satisfy the conditions to receive SSP. - SMP Maternity Absence.
This refers to an employee who has provided medical evidence of pregnancy and satisfies the other conditions to receive SMP. - Maternity Absence Excluded from SMP.
This refers to an employee who is on maternity absence but does not satisfy the conditins to receive SMP.
