Definition
Date when the employee is notified by the adoption agency that a match has been made with a child. This date is also known as the Matching Date. Notification of adoption officially occurs when the employee receives a Matching Certificate from the adoption agency.
Use
Use this field to record the date that the Matching Certificate is received by the employee. If this date is a Sunday, this date is taken as the start of the Matching Week . For any other days of the week on which the Matching Certificate is received, the Matching Week will start on the Sunday before this date.
Note: This date is relevant for processing of both Statutory Adoption Pay and Statutory Paternity Pay (adoption). However, the employee is only required to submit the Matching Certificate to the employer when notifying intention to take Statutory Adoption Leave. For Statutory Paternity Pay (adoption), the employee must submit self-certificate SC4.
