Definition

The tax code is determined by the employee's tax office according to the employee's claim for tax allowances.

An employee's tax code consists of one to four numbers followed by a suffix number. This can be "F", "W", "M", "N", "S", or "L".

There are also three non-numeric codes:

• NT - No tax deducted
• SB - No allowances and tax deducted at 15%
• HR - No allowances and tax deducted at 20%
