Definition

The Date left a HESA returnable appointment should be shown as the date in respect of which the last salary payment was made.

Note

A staff member retiring prematurely and receiving a pension is regarded as a leaver and should be recorded as retiring, code 42 in field Destination on leaving, unless they are immediately re-employed in academic institutional service at a level which justifies inclusion in the record.

This field should be completed for members of staff leaving the record (because they have left a HESA returnable appointment. This will not necessarily mean that the member of staff has left the institution).

For other members of staff this field should be left blank.
