Definition

The latest possible end date of the Paternity Pay Period (PPP) for either Statutory Paternity Pay (birth) or Statutory Paternity Pay (adoption).

Use

Either:

  • Statutory Paternity Pay (birth)

An employee must begin the PPP before the end of a period of 49 days, beginning with the date of the child's birth or the first day of the Expected Week of Confinement/Childbirth, whichever is the later. The PPP must be taken in a single block of either one or two weeks. Therefore, the latest possible end date of the PPP will be 49 days from the date of birth of the child or the first day of the Expected Week of Childbirth, plus the length of the PPP itself (one or two weeks).

  • Statutory Paternity Pay (adoption)

An employee must begin the PPP before the end of a period of 49 days, beginning with the date of the child's placement or the first day of the expected week of placement, whichever is the later. The PPP must be taken in a single block of either one or two weeks. Therefore, the latest possible end date of the PPP will be 49 days from the date of placement of the child or the first day of the expected week of placement, plus the length of the PPP itself (one or two weeks).
