Documentation
Definition
Date that the child is actually placed for adoption with the employee. This date is relevant for both Statutory Adoption Pay and Statutory Paternity Pay (adoption).
Use
Enter the actual date of placement of the child in this field, as notified by the employee.
Dependencies
For employees intending to take Statutory Adoption Leave or Statutory Paternity Pay (adoption), the baby's date of placement is used as follows:
- Statutory Adoption Leave
The start date for an employee's Adoption Pay Period cannot be more than two weeks before the child is expected to be placed, and cannot be later than the actual placement date of the child.
- Statutory Paternity Pay (adoption)
If the baby is placed before the Paternity Pay Period is due to start, the Paternity Pay Period would be a period of either one or two weeks beginning no later than 49 days following the date of placement of the child.
If the baby is placed later than expected, the Paternity Pay Period is not affected.
