Definition

Date of birth of the adopted child.

Use

The adopted child's date of birth is required to determine eligibility of an employee for Statutory Adoption Pay, or Statutory Paternity Pay (adoption).These two statutory absence payments and associated leave are only available when newly adopting a child up to the age of 18, and finish at the end of the week in which the adopted child becomes 18 years old.

If an employee adopts two or more children at the same time, the birth date of the youngest child should be entered in this field.
