Documentation
Definition
An employer consists of one or more legal persons.
A legal person has a unique wage tax number assigned to it by the Dutch Tax Office. The wage tax number is twelve characters long.
Usually, all legal persons having the same first nine characters of the wage tax number define an employer.
In special cases (e.g. a merger of two companies) the first nine characters of the legal persons differ from each other but nevertheless define an employer.
Use
As of January 1, 2011, the employer is used in the Work Cost Regulation.
