Use

By assigning a value in this field, you specify for each action/action reason and payslip type whether a new payslip period begins or whether it ends. Based on this information, the system determines when a new payslip is to be issued for a specific payslip type.

If an action or action reason is determined for a specific employee, the program generates a corresponding switch wage type in the payroll run. The value of this input field is hereby transferred to the number field of the switch wage type.

Dependencies

  • For the payslip type Payslip Tax, wage type /SL6 is generated.
  • For the payslip type Payslip SI, wage type /SLG is generated.
  • For the payslip type Payslip SI (BVA), wage type /SLV is generated.
  • For the payslip type Payslip E18, wage type /SL8 is generated.

Exceptions

  • Switch wage type /SLZ is generated additionally for each payslip result and is used to distinguish between old payroll results without switch wage types and new payroll results with switch wage types. This system behavior cannot be overridden.
  • Switch wage type /SL6 is also then generated if the employee receives an arrears payment for previous years, but is not active in the current period of the current year. This system behavior cannot be overridden.
  • If the employee is active on January 1 or December 31 of the current year and a special action or special action reason does not exist, switch wage type /SLJ is also created. This system behavior cannot be overridden.
  • Actions/action reasons that define the end of a payslip period and begin from the first day of the following month are still included in the current month.
  • If you enter the value 2 (= change of company from A to B), a payslip for company A is immediately output for all payslip types.
Also group your organizational units in the activity Group Employer Assignment Units Into Companies (view V_T5A7W). In this way, a change of company can be reliably identified by the system.
However, payslip SI for company A is not output immediately, but together with payslip SI for company B.

Recommendation

  • Also assign the value 6 to a leaving action/reason in the event of death for payslip type L16. With this special leaving reason, the system enters the beginning of the inactive period as Leaving Due to Death into the field of the tax payslip. All other payslip types are assigned the value 'X'.
  • If you are managing multiple companies and have to report separate SI payslips for each company if your employees change company, you do so using a suitable action/action reason (value 3). Also group your organizational units in the activity Group Employer Assignment Units Into Companies (view V_T5A7W). In this way, a change of company can be reliably identified by the system.

If you manage only one company in your system, you need to delete all entries from this view or check whether the view does not contain any entries. The view is then not taken into account by the system.

    Note
Note that incomplete entries in view V_T5A7W can, under certain circumstances, also lead to termination of the payroll run for numerous employees.

Example

In your Customizing settings, the following values for leaving actions are defined for your payslip types:

  • L16 ... 1
  • BGN ... 3
  • BVA ... 3
  • E18 ... X

An employee leaves on May 31, 2005 and has 10 days payment in lieu of unused leave from June 1, 2005:

  • In May 2005, wage types /SLZ and /SL6 are created with the value 1 in the Number wage type field.
  • In June 2005, wage type /SLZ and wage types /SLG and /SLV are created with the value 3 in the Number wage type field. A switch wage type /SL8 for payslip type E18 is never created for this action.
