Definition
The canton for social insurance is used to determine whether a social insurance component exists in addition to AHV and UI.
In 1998, the canton of Schaffhausen introduced a social fund that is financed jointly by the employee and employer.
This social fund is only calculated if Schaffhausen has been entered in the canton for social insurance field. If the field does not contain this entry, the social fund is not calculated. The social fund is calculated on the basis of wages liable to UI.
