Definition
The payment of the year-end bonus is either based on an average monthly salary, or the current monthly wage. If you use the current wage, you must also decide if entry payments and unpaid absences are to be taken into account.
The available variants are further explained in the following:
- Factored average wage
The factored wage forms the basis for the year-end bonus. 1/12th of the cumulated base is paid out in this period, and the base is subsequently reset. - Non-factored average wage
The non-factored wage forms the basis for the year-end bonus. 1/12th of the cumulated base is paid out in this period, and the base is subsequently reset. - Non-factored period wages
In the payment period (for n installments), a proportion - 1/n - of the factored period wage is paid out. In this case, it is unimportant if the employee only joined the company during the year, or if the employee has unpaid absences. If the employee leaves the company before the first payment period, then he/she does not receive a year-end bonus. - Period wage, projected for the examination period
For this examination method, the current period wage (non-factored) is used as the base. As with variant 1, a cumulated base is created, where the partial period factors are cumulated, not the period wages. The current wage is projected for the whole examination period using the employee's cumulated partial period factors, so that entries and unpaid absences are taken into account, along with variant 1. A type of "average wage examination" is carried out, where the current basic pay is also used for the preceding months.
